And the Award Goes To...

Greetings from Los Angeles, California!
As you probably have seen from my constant Facebook posts (and Ansel Elgort’s Instagram) I spent my Sunday afternoon at The Young Hollywood Awards!
My day started early-and we are talking one in the morning early!
I woke up from two hours of sleep and drove with my mom to California and straight to a dress fitting. Not only did I get the opportunity to walk the blue carpet, but I also got the chance to wear a beautiful designer dress. Noelle Freeman, owner of IAB Store, is a true gem and helped me with every second of choosing my favorite look.
Can I be real for a second?
The inspiration behind my glowing orange dress was to capture the attention of Mr. Elgort, which it did, but that’s another story!
Stepping foot onto the carpet was more than just stepping into a huge milestone in my life, it was the first step into my dreams (corny I know).
From celebs like Vanessa Hudgens, the cast of Orange Is the New Black, and to my personal favorite, Ansel Elgort the smile on my face never left.
The blue carpet wasn’t the only highlight of the evening, I also had the opportunity to sit at a table with other young actors and enjoy wine!
What an honor it was to experience this!
While the fun will end tomorrow evening when I pack my bags and head back for the good ole’ AZ the fun is still going on as I type.
I just got off the phone with the guys from the band IM5 and wow what a group. If you haven’t listened to their music, then you definitely should because it’s packed with so much heart and soul.
Cole, Dana, David, Gabe, and Will you boys inspire me and I can’t wait to see the amazing work that you guys do in the future!
I just want to take a moment and thank all of my friends and family for the ongoing support while I was on the blue carpet and interviewing all of the celebrities, it really was a true blessing.

While I don’t have time to describe every detail, I think I’ll just share some pictures of my evening… enjoy!

Vanessa Hudgens, even more glamorous in person!

Such a little cutie, I remember watching her on "Mike's Super Short Show,"
 G. Hannelius and I are best friends now.

Real life! Tried getting her to tell me about Season 3 of "Orange Is the New Black,"
but she is a stickler for the rules

Fig! Gosh she is so flawless!

Danielle Campbell. This picture really doesn't do her justice.
She is absolutely stunning!

Colbie Caillat is so inspiring. This is us talking about her new song "Try"
and how she was inspired by it.

Oh, and then there was Ansel Elgort. I obviously make him the happiest man alive!

Here he is again.

Guilty of frantically stalking him on the carpet... you caught me.

My carpet look. Thanks again IAB!

Love you all and thanks for reading!

Gearing Up For Life!

Woah! Is this really the life that I get to live? Somebody better pinch me because I can literally see all of my dreams falling into place right in front of me.
The other day as I was driving, I thought about how so many people complain about growing up and paying bills and taking on responsibility “sucks.”
May I be the first to say that I completely disagree?!
Growing up and going after your dreams full speed ahead is such an incredible feeling that I really hope all of you guys get to experience.
With that said, where do I begin? I think I’ll start with right now I am anxiously packing for the Young Hollywood Awards in California this coming Monday and then right after I’m catching a flight to Las Vegas for ten days to work for Hip Hop International! It’s going to be such a busy next couple of months, especially because right upon landing back home from Vegas I’ll be getting my wisdom teeth extracted (ew) and then heading off to California once again for the Emmy Awards! That’s right, I said the Emmy Awards.
I’m so excited to share all of my upcoming experiences with everyone and watch my dreams unfold in front of me.
So many people tell me how “lucky” or “blessed” that I am to have all of these things “happen to me.”
Well, let me just say that you are all so false and that’s where I think society is wrong about people who actually make it in life.
I’m blessed with a beautiful and supportive family. I’m lucky to have amazing people in my life.
But I work, hard, for every opportunity that I get. Use this story as a lesson, that things don’t always fall into your lap and life has a way of changing in mid-flight and you don’t know when your last breath will be.
So what are you waiting for? If I’m out here living my dream then you should be too.
Don’t get me wrong, growing up of all things can be scary. But I am a firm believer in the saying

“If your dreams don’t scare you, then they aren’t big enough.”

Long Time No Blog.

Whew! What a week it has been! I have been looking forward to the first couple of weeks in July since I was just a sophomore in high school. Now look at me, a junior in college and Student Council Camp still has me coming back!
I don’t even know where to begin, it all happened so fast but it taught me some of the most amazing lessons.
I guess I will start with Saturday, July 5th. Driving up to Prescott with my very best friend is always the best, but getting up to Prescott and seeing my favorite people in this entire world-there are no words.
Sounds corny and cliché, but when I am up in Prescott for those fast-paced couple of days, I am home.
On Sunday all of the high delegates from all around the high schools in good ole Arizona started to arrive and each year I get more and more excited to meet the young leaders who will change my life. I don’t think it comes as a surprise to know that my council this year was nothing short of amazing. How lucky am I to have had such a great group of kids to spend the week with?
Fast-forward to Monday morning, I took a bit of a tumble. I was cheering on this “rock wall” I guess you could call it and BeyoncĂ© ended up getting the best of me  and my dance moves and then… I fell (not as gracefully as I would have liked,) and I ended up tearing a tendon in my foot.
Tuesday flew by with more amazing memories, but Wednesday night is always what gets me. Wednesday is the night that the JCs give you a special gift. This night always stood out to me when I was a camper, and now being a JC and being able to be apart of this amazing organization and live it-that’s a whole ‘nother blog!
That night, I gave the gift of resilience to the crowd of young high school leaders. With some help from dear friends leading me in the right direction, I knew that it was perfect for them, and for me.
Now, if you’re not a camper and have no idea what I mean by “Giving the gift of resilience,” its okay it’s not important what giving a word to someone means.
What is important is what that word means to me, and what it will continue to mean to me.

This past year has been very rocky for me, and I needed my AASC family more than anything this year. The gift of resilience to me is standing back up no matter how many times life can knock you down. Thank you to my AASC family, my co-JCs, my campers, and everyone else for spending the week up in Prescott with me. I love you all so much. Thank you to the person who inspired the gift of resilience in me. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t know what it is like to hit rock bottom and know how worthless you were in my life and how strong I am on my own.

Lord only knows where I would be without these beautiful souls in my life.
In case you were wondering, we are the little kids from ET. Kiley, you're the best!
